Summary of February

This has been a very interesting month. At one point I was on a 30 cap downswing. I ran extremely bad for most of the month. Which led to some bad playing to go along with it. I feel i'm better than most people at my level. When i'm at a table of no names I crush it, but i'm not making enough money against the regulars. I don't think any of them are better than me. They just seem not to pay me off as much as they should. Next month I plan to get a much better read on the regulars and dominate them. I'm ending today and taking the last 2 days of the month off. After having 3 weeks of either losing money or breaking I finally made money this past week. Finished up in cash [even though i lost 350 today :( ] this week and had a nice victory in a tournament to give me a plus month.

Next month I plan to continue to play .5/1 maybe splash in some 1/2 (which i'm up lifetime). Play some more tournaments. Make better player dependent reads. Stick to my 5 cap loss rule. My goal is to make 2k next month. I fell about 800 below that this month, but I feel if I take away my horrible downswing i would have easily made it.

Donkaments

Finally made money this month. Played in a stupid $5 tournament today while i was studying. Wanted to work on my tournament play during the mid stages of it. Figured id practice a little. First two hands were AA then KK and took people out on both. So I felt like it was supposed to be a good tourney for me. Anyways played real agg once the antes came in. Hit some nice hands. Led from 15th down and one the entire thing. Made a little over 1k. Not bad for $5 lol. Ill be posting lots of HH from this past week. As my cash game has still be running bad. Though i finally had an up day yesterday making a little over 300.

Add another tournament victory under AuthRuths belt. Hopefully I can start hitting the bigger tournaments once i get my strategy down.

EVEN

Finally even on the month. Poker this weekend was to say the least interesting. I decided to play a lot of different stuff. Played some $30 sit n goes (lost money). Played some deep stack. (even) Cap game (even). Played tourneys on Sunday (up $200)

I decided to play lots of tourneys on Sunday for the hell of it. Signed up for 5 or 6 $10, $5 tourneys. About to start a tournament/Wire marathon, when Soccermom84 gives me a ring and wants to know if I wanted to play in the FTOPS $500 buy-in Main Event. (ofcourse with him taking a big % of me bc i cant afford to play that) So I played in it.

He got screwed with AA vs 88 guy turned an 8. I somehow cashed which was sweet. Not that $200 is awesome but being able to say i cashed in such a big tournament makes me feel good.
No interesting hands from the tourneys to post, but heres a few other hands. Placed 617 out of 5281.

Valentines Day

Another Valentines Day has come and gone. Thats all I have to say about that.
So i'm reading an article for class right now and i'm running one table of poker bc well im addicted. I've never been so bored. One table is awful. Its all fold fold fold fold fold. Stats so far 45 hands. Flop seen 2. Kill me now.

Played a little more 8 tables deep stack .10/.25 today broke even but its so much fun to be able to play "creative" poker. Much more thinking then CAP. Made some nasty bluffs but i lost my document with the hands on it so no HH from that sorry.

Today's 1st cap session went pretty well. Started off playing only regulars. 2 tables of tilted425, heidegger_83, and I. Both good players not people i'm afraid to play but probably not as profitable situation as i would have liked. Ended up one cap at those. Then got some more action. Ended the day up. I feel like i set mine too much. I call with pp all the time from the blinds even in a 2 way pot. Probably not profitable. Need to work on that.

2nd session consisted of JJ vs QQs KKvsAA 7s vs 9s on a 5 high board a Bad Beat with Qs, great read by me on the turn...not rewarded. ALL AT ONE TABLE IN TWO HRS. WTF. I feel like thats alittle much dont you think. Pretty much broke even on the day. I am so pissed off about my results so far this month.

Poker > Business Law

After yesterdays evil poker session. I decided to drop a few levels and play .10/.25 NL 8 tables. Made half my money back and gain a new respect for deep stack players.

After 4 hours of Business Law reading (halfway done for the night) and watching MUCKEMSAYUHH play Ivey HUs, I decided to have a short session. Why not I gotta get my Daily Points for Iron Man. Todays session was what I call a successful day for the month. Ended up once cap. F'in Sweet. Better than a down day. Played well other than the fact i can't fold when i know they have aces.

I hate poker because poker hates me

So I had to create this to comment on a friends blog. (if not i thought i had to). Anyway I didnt plan on actually writing anything in these but im pretty much on tilt so im trying relieve some stress. Throwing water bottles in the street works but not all the time.

A little about myself. I'm a 21 year old accounting major at WVU. I graduate in May but i'm going to grad school so another year before real life starts. Ive been playing poker for the past few years, but only recently building a bankroll thanks to a few new good friends. I watch a lot of TV series. This blog will consist of me bitching about poker. Asking for help about poker and a few insights on LOST.

Poker really started off great this year. Had my biggest most successful month in January. Up 2400. But then Feb. 1st came. Apparently the poker gods understand changes in month. Feb stats 9 down days one even day. one up day. overall down 450 this month. I dont understand. Playing the same game as last month. Playing the same level as last month. I'm pretty sure im just running bad/tilting some money away. I play on a MAC and PokerTracker doesnt support MAC so i dont have any stats or graphs to show my adjusted equity but im guessing im running below equity.

To sum up my day. I flopped the nuts and a guy turned quads on me. Nice one outer. Thats my month. After that i busted a few water bottles in the street and canceled my study sessions for the day.

So about the title of my BLOG. Well Lil Wayne is one of my favorite rappers and his song "The Sky is the limit" puts me in the mood for poker. The lines "I should try to make a living,
I tell em' imma hustler and I'd rather make killin'' and "Don't worry bout mine, imma grind till I get it And tell all of my niggas that the sky is the limit " make me wanna believe lil wayne is a poker player though im positive he had other things on his mind when he wrote this.

Time to do some school work.
